Like most women…

My skin has always been a priority. My esthetician taught me how to take care of my skin ~ cleansing, hydrating, exfoliating, protecting and repairing. She was a teacher of skin care and I was thirsty to learn. When my daughters began rolling into adolescence accompanied by the familiar skin issues, I took a look in the mirror and saw the skin issues that accompany aging. I wanted to learn how to best address all of our issues, so having just transitioned out of my former profession, I enrolled in beauty school!

I became a licensed esthetician in the state of California. Opening my skin care business in 2012, I treated women and men of all ages, many dealing with skin and health challenges. In the process I became obsessed with learning everything I could about skin care ingredients. Products that call their line “clean” in fact contain some very naughty ingredients. And products that truly are clean oftentimes aren’t very effective. Skin is an organ, and what you put on it, is also what you put inside you.

It became apparent that applying vital nutrients to the skin, nourishes the entire body. Continuing my skin care education, I sought out different cosmetic chemists whom I trusted and were willing to share information. Working in collaboration with a cosmetic chemist whose specialties include phyto-chemistry, and who has long studied the benefits of the sea as a great resource of health, we launched Sharla Skin in 2019.

I am proud to say our products are formulated using rich marine algae nutrients with only natural colors and fragrances, organic seaweed, botanicals and essential oils. Even our preservatives are natural ~ fermented radish root and lactobacillus with coconut extract keep our products safe, fresh and clean. Minimal and recyclable packaging materials help maintain our commitment to the planet too. In a short time, we have gained a following of face-forward fans who share our desire to treat our skin naturally.
